Really get to grips with the dough in your own kitchen
The following bread making courses are fully hands-on. You'll get the full experience of making three to four breads, start to finish, and we'll use your own oven to its full potential for the best results.
Whether you are looking for a real education in bread making, a social gathering or a celebration with friends and family, the courses below work really well. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask me your bread making questions along the way, and after that, sit, relax and enjoy the food!
What happens on the day?
I will arrive at your house with all ingredients and equipment we need, and set up for our day of baking bread.
We'll make our doughs all together and put them to one side while we have a cup of tea and a biscuit. The dough will rest nicely, and we'll have a little time to prepare a selection of tasty dishes and accompaniments. This part can be a cookery demonstraton, with some participation if you wish.
Then, as we take the lids off the dough we'll see how much they have grown! We'll get to work shaping up all our breads together, and let them prove up once more. While they are baking I will take care of the finishing touches for your lunch or supper.
Together we'll set the table ready for a delicious tasty meal with all your fresh breads too.
I will tidy up everything, making your kitchen spick and span as if nothing ever happened!

If you're looking to learn how to create classic breads on a regular basis this one is for you.
From simple doughs we'll make your sandwich loaf, rolls, plaits, knots and pitas. Incorporating fruit, seeds and nuts to accompany a selection of great british cheese and accompaniments
For the beer lover
We'll make two different beer doughs for crusty chorizo bread, and sesame and sea salt beer pretzels, and an oat and stout soda bread too.
Your beer bread will be met with some pretzel dips, spicy slaw, peppered pastrami, pickles, salsa and salads
Something a little different
Three filled and stuffed breads to bring a contemporary, rustic look to your dinner table.
Goats cheese tear and share, garlic & lemon thyme flower pots and olive breadsticks to accompany salads and a baked feta
Classic Mediterranean Flavours
My Mediterranean course is great to start building your knowledge. We'll be making a traditional focaccia, a light rye and olive loaf, and a ciabatta using a "biga".
We’ll match your breads with freshy made antipasti and a selection of cured meats and Salamis
A great opportunity to get technical
Recreate that "stone-baked" effect in your own oven for the prefect crust in this most advanced course.
Use bannetons, grignettes, couches, and a pre-ferment to make baguettes, spelt bread, and a fresh herb fougasse. Complemented by a classic baked cheese, cured meats and wholesome salads.
Spin pizzas like a professional pizzaiolo!
In this course you'll be making your perfect pizza dough, then getting to work exhausting the possibilities
You'll be trying the pizzas, mini calzones and saltimbocca pizza sandwiches as we go, accompanied by fresh salads and dip
