For as long as I can remember I have been using neat rectangular peels like these to slide my oval sourdough loaves into the oven side by side. I find that loading them one by one is so much easier than lining up two loaves on a single large peel because then if one sticks, chances are I’ll accidentally destroy the other trying to shake it loose!

Available singly or as a pack of two for those of you baking two loaves on the regular just like me.

NOW made out of STRONGER stuff! These peels are made of Birchwood ply, designed to be lightweight and easy to fit in your kitchen cupboard or drawer with a tapered edge to help slide dough off when loading, and baked loaves back on as you remove them from the oven.

Bake with Jack long loaf sourdough peels are engraved with the Bake with Jack logo for good grip on your thumb.

They are natural wood products so although we will do our best to pick two that match please expect them to have their own unique colourings and markings.

These peels are made for loading LONG loaves from your oval banneton baskets and measure approximately:

37cm long, 15cm wide and 4mm thick.

For round loaves you’ll need something a little wider.

Care & Maintenance

Avoid water when cleaning these and instead remove excess dough with a dough scraper and excess flour with a brush just like your banneton baskets.

They will arrive to you in their natural, unfinished state and can be treated with a food grade mineral oil for a more hard-wearing finish if you wish!

These are not designed for extended exposure to the heat of your oven or for use as a cutting board.
