Birchwood peels for maximum control when loading baguettes one by one onto your hot stone.
By the time you are ready to bake your baguettes, you and your dough have already come on a long journey together. Loading them into the oven one by one offers so much more control than lining them up on one big peel after all, if one sticks it’s tricky trying to release it without damaging the others.
I have always used long thin peels like this for the ceremonial oven loading, slide them off of the boards onto the stone and turn it on its edge to shimmy the baguettes into their final baking position while straightening them up at the same time.
Bake with Jack Baguette peels are available singly for use as a flipping board or in a pack of four so you can fill the oven shelf swiftly with four baguettes in one go like me.
Each one is engraved with the Bake with Jack logo for good grip on your thumb.

These peels are made of birch wood, designed to be lightweight and easy to fit in your kitchen cupboard or drawer with a tapered edge to help slide dough off when loading, and baked baguettes back on as you remove them from the oven.
They are natural wood products so although we will do our best to pick four that match please expect them to have their own unique colourings and markings.
These peels measure approximately:
38cm long, 8cm wide and 4mm thick.
Care & Maintenance
Avoid water when cleaning these and instead remove excess dough with a dough scraper and excess flour with a brush just like your banneton baskets.
They will arrive to you in their natural, unfinished state and can be treated with a food grade mineral oil for a more hard-wearing finish if you wish.
These are not designed for extended exposure to the heat of your oven or for use as a cutting board.
