Easter feels like a bonus moment of celebration at the beginning of the year, and much like Christmas it gives us reason to come together, enjoy food together, and make some delicious treats for us all.
In this course think along the lines of almonds, dried fruits, peel and spice, all the things just meant to be in luxurious enriched bread and buns. We’ll be filling, twisting and plaiting to make our celebration breads look as good as they taste.
Suitable for home bakers of all abilities
After this course you’ll have a solid understanding of:
Exactly why the hot cross buns you make tower above the cheaper-than-chips shop bought pappy version.
How to get maximum filling inside your buns while keeping them light and fluffy.
How to beautifully twist and plait bread dough and have it retain its shape.
Why baking enriched dough is different and how to get away with the minimum baking time possible to keep them moist.
What makes the widely celebrated tortano bread the most deeply savoury deliciousness that it is.
Why boiled eggs in bread dough isn’t actually as weird as it sounds and is in fact unbelievably moreish.
How tactical use of spice and zest can elevate sweet buns to new heights.
We’ll Make:
A selection of stunning Easter breads with inspiration from around the world including great British Hot Cross Buns packed with fruit, the decorative and delicious Pane di Pasqua and the classic savoury Italian Tortano filled with salami, chopped egg, herbs and cheese.

Cancellations
Bookings cancelled within 21 days of the date of the booking are non-refundable and non-transferable unless I can refill your place which I will try my best to do. If I am able to do so, a full refund will be given, or you may transfer to another date.
