February in the HomeBaker’s Club…
Hello!
Looks like you’ve had fun with last months Seeded Batch Loaves and Goat’s Cheese Tear and Share, especially substituting onion marmalade (genius!)
This month one for you wholemeal lovers and a Turkish special…
BRAND NEW BEGINNERS SECTION
Wondering where to start?
I’ve rounded up my recommendations for your first taste of success!
Traditional methods, simple process and delicious results, find it in the Bread Recipes section.
Stone Baked Wholemeal Bloomers
Wholemeal flour can present us with many challenges as you may well know, resulting in dense and doughy loaves and the all too common hole-in-the-middle loaf! In this recipe you’ll be combining tactics to avoid the common pitfalls and create light, tasty wholemeal loaves that look stunning too.
Turkish Simit
These sesame encrusted, crispy almost bagel like breads are quite unique in their flavour thanks to the addition of pomegranate molasses coating the outside. They are fun to shape too resulting in these perfectly dippable twisted breads that are incredible morish and edible straight from the oven. One I urge you to try.
And in the “with bread” section…
A delicious Feta Cheese and Dill Mezze dip for dunking Simit (REALLY yummy!) and a Crispy Bacon, Watercress and Egg Salad Sandwich done right!
Enjoy these new recipes!
See you in class :-)
