Baguette Peel
Baguette Peel
For delicately lifting and loading baguettes
I have always used long thin peels like this to load baguettes into the oven one by one; they offer so much more control than lining them up on one big peel. After all, if one sticks it’s tricky trying to release it without damaging the others!
Once in place, turn a peel onto its edge to shimmy the baguettes into their final baking position while straightening them up at the same time.
You may like just one to use as a flipping board, or a set of four for individually loading a batch of baguettes like I do.
These peels are made of birch wood, designed to be lightweight and easy to fit in your kitchen cupboard or drawer with a tapered edge to help slide underneath your baguettes as you remove them from the oven.
They are natural wood products, for a set of four we will do our best to pick four that match for you.
Approximate measurements:
38cm long, 8cm wide and 4mm thick.
Care & Maintenance
Avoid water when cleaning these and instead remove excess dough with a dough scraper and excess flour with a brush just like your banneton baskets.
These will arrive to you in their natural unfinished state, which is exactly how we use them in class, and can be treated with a food grade mineral oil for a more hard-wearing finish if you wish!
Not designed for extended exposure to the heat of your oven or for use as a cutting board.
