July in the HomeBaker’s Club…
Hey Homebaker!
Doesn’t seem that long ago I was sending you the recipes for the Bread Crumb Bread (total winner) and Apricot, Orange and Almond Fruit Loaf, this month a nourishing twist and a little fun with a rolling pin…
Carrot and Sunflower Seed Loaf
This nourishing tender crumb loaf will have you adding grated carrot in the perfect percentage to bring a difficult-to-describe freshness to your bread without making it taste like “health food”. A straightforward method earns this loaf it’s place in the “beginners” category and for those of you with experience, brings a little something new to the hobby. While it doesn’t taste overwhelming of carrot it brings a little Moorish quality to the party and make most excellent toast.
Leaf Rolls
I don’t think I’m alone in finding breads like these intriguing. Certain shapes raise the question “how did they do that?” and often, like in the case of these Leaf Rolls, it’s often the simplest of flourishes that turn an otherwise ordinary dough into an exceptional looking bread. These rolls are fun to make and crusty too, serve warm.
And in the “with bread” section…
Butter Baked Carrot Toast with Crushed Celery and Bresaola and a potentially divisive Mango and Chicory Salad with Cottage Cheese.
This month’s recipes join all the previous recipes in the Homebaker’s Club today!
Have fun and I’ll see you in class :-)
