A loaf for the coffee lovers!

August in the HomeBaker’s Club…

Hey Homebaker!

Carrot bread, leaf rolls and now COFFEE? Yep!

If you’re a coffee lover like me you’ll love this months first recipe, and the second is for the dunkers, have fun this month!

Coffee, Date and Walnut Loaf

For this one you’ll be brewing your favourite coffee and adding it straight to the dough along with butter and brown sugar for 8 minutes of coffee scented kneading heaven. The finished loaves are studded with sticky sweet dates and walnuts with a soft crumb and crispy crust. No baking stone necessary, you’ll be getting great results baking directly on a tray and learning how to score an artistic coffee bean design on top.

Grissini Bread Sticks

Here’s a good one to bake in batch, they’re easy to make, crispy and crunchy and last really well. It’s a traditional method of making bread dough with a little liquid malt for extra flavour, you’ll be hand rolling your homemade grissini, coating in various toppings, baking and drying completely making breadsticks so good you won’t buy them again. Perfect for dips and snacking.

And in the “with bread” section…

Mocha French Toast with Mascarpone Whip making an exceptional dessert from left over coffee bread and a thick and creamy Tarragon and Parmesan Sour Cream Dip for dipping grissini.
